The Big Picture - World’s Largest Photomosaic.

An apt name for this one ‘The Big Picture‘, usually they look perfect on a wall, but this one measures 857.3m2, the size of three tennis courts and the work of art included 112, 896 individual photos. This makes it officially the largest photomosaic which was unveiled at Millennium Point in Birmingham on August 23rd 2008. It was between January and June 2008, when people from all over the West Midlands picked up their cameras and mobile phones to take and present an incredible 112,896 photos to The Big Picture. And it was Artist Helen Marshall who was commissioned to lead the final phase in the making of the Big Picture. She worked with photomosaic expert Polly Tiles to realize the huge image.
